There are many ways that you can help Second Image and help your community. One of the best and simplest ways is through donation. By donating your unwanted upscale, designer and gently worn items, you will be giving others a chance to improve their lives. Second Image accepts clothing, furniture, housewares, working electronics, books, records and many other items.
There are however, some things which we cannot accept due to condition, safety regulations, size and weight. Donated items that we are unable to use are disposed of, which adds to our cost of operations and reducing the funds available for our programs. We may be selective in accepting most large appliances, vehicles, waterbeds, console TVs, carpet remnants, or unframed glass. If you are unsure if your items suitable for donation, please call our donation office at (727) 546-3400 and we will be glad to help you.
When choosing items to donate, consider these guidelines.
Do wash clothing before donating.
Do make sure electrical equipment and battery operated items are working.
Do make certain all pieces of games and appliances are included.
Don't leave items unattended outside a collection area.
Don't donate broken or soiled items.
Don't give items that have been recalled, banned, or do not meet current safety standards. For more info visit the Consumer Product Safety Comission.
Please remember that while not all thrift stores are affiliated with charities, Second Image Thrift Store in Pinellas Park is fully owned and operated by Family Resources Foundation. All proceeds go directly to Family Resources--a private non-profit organization serving the children, youth and families of the Tampa Bay area since 1970. This guide will assist you in determining the tax-deductible value of any items you are donating to Second Image thrift Store. You will see that the table includes low and high estimates of value. Please choose a value within this range that is in keeping with your item's relative age and quality.
